Who Are We?

Who Are We?

Our prototype has been in development independently by Wind Craft X-Aviation and our team of volunteers for over a year.

During that time we have proven the concept in simulations and static scale models, exhibited at the worlds largest airshow, and partnered with alternative energy pioneers to see sustainable aviation come to life. All on on a budget similar to how much the average person spends on coffee each year. Through your support you are enabling this team of passionate volunteers to create the future of transportation

Hey There,

It's nice to meet you.

My name is Alex, and I started Project Wind Craft because there is something wrong with the industry I love. I grew up in the Middle East so I know first hand that the ability to fly eludes those who need it most. Aviation, as it stands, is fundamentally cost prohibitive. That means even if you make more than 50 thousand dollars a year, which is more than many people make their entire lives, chances are you don’t own a plane and you probably don’t fly. So how has such a universal desire to fly freely only been realized by a tiny percentage of the population? Well there’s a few reasons, the most notorious being the shear cost to fly frankly antiquated machines. The industry simply hasn’t evolved in a significant way in over 60 years. Maybe you haven’t realized it yet but this is incredibly significant to your life. The ability to move people and things faster and more efficiently means you spend less time in a car that pollutes the very world you live in, we stop paying for roads that pave over our forests. And that absolutely devastating accident that killed a teenager in your community last week? That might not have happened. However significant that is for you, now think about communities who don’t have roads in the first place and who’s members die of preventable diseases just because medicine can’t get there in time. We have the ability to fix the “un-fixable” problems in our society through something as simple as an airplane. But it’s going to take a crazy ambitious, incredibly creative team of engineers, pilots, and mechanics to reinvent aviation. Thankfully, that’s what we are and I invite you to join the movement by supporting the project on Kick Starter and through our store of aviation merchandise. Thank you, sincerely, for joining the movement to fly free.

The Company.

Just a couple of engineers who believe in aeronautical freedom.

Wind Craft Aviation was originally founded in 2015 in Alex Taylor’s basement when he was just 14. Under the name “Wind Craft Quads” Alex built, sold, and maintained unmanned aerial systems and in 2017 under part 107 became the youngest commercial drone pilot in the country. His connection to aviation was a constant throughout his childhood. As an Ex-Pat in Istanbul Turkey his love to fly and the lack of resources to do so lead him to drones at a very young age. That passion and determination persisted until late 2017 when he developed a new vision for aerospace, one where we can fearlessly implement new technology into aerospace to close the gap between the human and the machine, make flying more intuitive, practical and affordable. So Wind Craft Quads became Wind Craft Aviation, we built a team of over 20 pilots, mechanics, engineers and inventors.

Now we have our eye on you, we want you to have the freedom to fly, we want aviation to change and become more inclusive. We want this generation to be the first of many, who spell progress R-I-S-K. Wind Craft was founded on the dimple idea that accessible and sustainable aviation can change the world. And that’s what we’re doing.

Geographically Optimized Aircraft Technology.

So eventually we can say that every human has access to medical care, every country has infrastructure and as a human race, we travel sustainably without polluting our environment.
